While in-person debates provide entertaining fireworks, I think we can gain and share more true illumination through writing published after research and reflection. This issue is far too complicated and important to address with sound bites or "win" with rhetorical flourishes.
We need both. A debate is a conversation. It's not about fireworks or sound bites. In any case, thank you for your thoughts on @Medium.

I always have fun on conference panels debating topics like the future of the semantic web, but given the number of times I've had to research, rethink, and revise my ideas for these posts, I don't think I could do justice to this important topic in real-time.
