Right, the "incel trying to get tenure" insult is funny given that I'm already tenured and am also married & have kids. But the other part of that tweet also conveys a deep misunderstanding. He suggests that fighting openly against cancel culture could actually help my career...

Isn't the 3rd signature on the letter a female professor? ...though I guess misgendering is not a big deal if you're white-knighting for us women

Yup, made this throwaway account because I could get canceled and/or ostracized by peers for saying this stuff as a junior wics engineer. Feel free to attack my potential male trollness though, if it makes you feel better :), but please do think about my statements ntl. Thx!

I share the sentiment... "isms"="human brains overfitting to observed data", perhaps we all need new anatomical brain models :p do agree that pedro is very incendiary, but idk if he's worse than Anima.

think the anima incident was what brought this letter on? whether either party was justified is up for interpretation (imo this is why social sciences is so much harder than STEM..) but I agree that there's perhaps more to signing this letter than agreeing with its contents.

It was much more than that incident. Cancel culture is pervasive and getting worse. We need to stop it now.
