I think that you are slowly getting to the actual issues. What you put as a default value in a system matters and has a lot of influence.

Just call it something else, like “Safe” values because they are likely there for safe operation. People “hung up” over names is not smart, or safe.

Once we start playing their game, everyone realizes how arbitrary their choice of targets. Well, not arbitrary but self-serving.
