"work on an end date" doesn't mean "i resign forthwith" -- it means "i propose to transition my work and responsibilities in an orderly fashion and leave thereafter" they didn't accept this proposal and fired her

as a matter of California employment case law if you submit a letter of resignation naming a specific last date and your employer terminates your employment earlier than that it counts as firing, not resignation and since Gebru didn't even propose a specific date...

Professor, you are trying to reason with a bunch of people whose sole intention is to try and outdo each other in demonstrating their "wokeness". California is an at-will employment place. A company can fire you for any reason, just like an employee can leave for any reason.
