Exactly. The system didn't formulate the problem, design the architecture (and search the space of architectures), or fit the model. It just does the computation. In fact, it lacks metacognitive awareness that it is doing anything at all. The prize would have no incentive value

For the same reason that von Laue, the Braggs, Crick, Watson and Wilkins, Hodgkin, Lipscomb, and several others won a Nobel Prize...but their X-ray sources did not. It's a tool.
