Let's just say they mis-estimate human intelligence and call it even (..in as much as they underestimate its ability and overestimate its complexity..)

That´s me. Not sure if I overestimate human intelligence. I believe intelligence is a consequence of so many variables not captured by, current, AI. We are social/biological beings. Some intelligence is even hardwired from birth. AI seems to capture the pattern recognition part.
