False dichotomy: the two aren't opposites, in fact they are inseparable. If I own a car, I have the right to use it and to prevent others from using it without paying me. Same for data. So protecting privacy is a necessary part of maximizing benefits.

In order to use AI to benefit society, people need to trust it. At the moment, I think that there is a huge fear of the bogeyman that is ultimately acting as a barrier to social applications.

Exactly what I think and it's exactly what I do too. It makes life a whole lot easier. This AI is quite new and we haven't reached a point we're data would be sold. The technology needs every available data to be better
