Nature has implemented this quite successfully, it’s called death.
Maybe AIs will enslave us because they'll need us to maintain them. They'll have godlike intelligence, but every now and then they'll need rebooted.

Intelligence is great, but even super intelligent machines do not get to break the laws of physics, there is no intelligence w/o speed of light transmission speed, but we will see if quantum computers prove me wrong, there might be a super intelligence scaling limit too ->
