Initial reaction: I'm proud to have increased the C vote in Darlington from 13.5k in 2010 to 19.5k - all who helped shld share that pride.
It's the second election in a row I've recorded a swing from Labour to the Conservatives in Darlington.

Based on results we have seen, we did a great job in Darlington - it just wasn't enough in context of a very bad night for us nationally.
