1. I did exposure therapy and started really low stakes. I started thinking of planned 1-on-1 meetings as mini presentations. I started proposing ideas to my teams as presentations. This reframing forced me to simplify ideas and think about how to communicate them well.

DO LIGHTNING TALKS
I tried to do a lightning talk at every @pydatatriangle quarterly meetup. Lightning talks gave me the opportunity to just stare at my laptop and talk while there's strangers in the room. It's just practicing the experience of getting "on stage".Prikaži ovu nit -

4. Practice a bunch, even before your presentation is final. Presentation Patterns calls this THE CRUCIBLE if you want to feel badass about it. I used practice as a way to generate more content for my presentations, as speaking forced me to say something.pic.twitter.com/DwhpnSlNSJ

5. Get used to how you feel before presentations. I still get anxious, but I expect that now and realize it's just my body's automatic response to the situation. Meditation & mindfulness can help here, and there's a really good guided meditation in the 10 Percent Happier app.pic.twitter.com/4pQz34J3q3

6. Don't be afraid to say no and schedule strategically. I get exhausted after presentations and pretty much can't get work done the rest of the day. This means I try not to schedule a bunch of presentations in a row so I don't burn out.
