The big thing about VR people are underestimating is the sledgehammer emotional impact of the medium. Images on screens do not compare.

@pmarca I also think people broadly are under-estimating the neuroscience of immersion and how your brain reacts to fulfill the experience.

@stevesi @pmarca most folks are underestimating how dorky it looks to wear huge goggles and pretend you're talking to a real human.

@Jason @stevesi @pmarca having seen this, VR will mass-market adopt first, before AR. Every 16 yr old in US will demand Oculus next yr

@polemitis @Jason @stevesi @pmarca AR will take longer but without a doubt the superior tech for majority of applications. PC vs smartphone

@moxon @polemitis @Jason @pmarca it isn't either/or. Seems different use cases. When neuroscience can simulate tactile then they converge.

@moxon @stevesi @polemitis @pmarca We can stimulate kissing for all the nerds too afraid to ask someone on a date! Do you hear yourselves?!

@Jason @moxon @polemitis @pmarca this would have been argument against film. Go out on real date don't watch others. Ignore other use cases.

@pmarca my sarcastic comments about VR are brought to you by '90s disappointment and the tedium of matrix math.
