Great piece, but given Silicon Valley was originally founded on hardware start-ups (Fairchild, Intel etc) do you think the VC model is still well suited to fund the large number of "alien dreadnoughts" required to BUILD this vision of the future?

@pmarca, It's great to see you coming out of retirement as a thought leader and I like this piece. Each time I read it, I stumble over the "microscopic fraction of 4M" statement. 3.3M graduate HS and 2.9M enroll in some form of post-secondary education. (?)
