Marc, one of the best journalists on television. He shaped my early life with his direct and clear presentation of the world. Such an amazing soul. His passing leaves a big hole in the universe.

Many hours watching MacNeil-Lehrer as a kid, asking myself "Why does this seem better than what's on the big networks?".

'i am not in the entertainment business' - the journalism of today definitely seems to be leaning a lot further towards entertainment and sensationalism.

Jim Lehrer set the standard for journalism for my entire adult life. I became a viewer as a college student in the 80’s and still listen to the NewsHour via podcast today. He will be deeply missed but his legacy will continue
