Then they should be talking directly to those that signed the recall, and making the case as to what they’re seeing, either isn’t true, or is a positive thing. People are smearing each other, shouting platitudes and ad-hominems, instead of defending results.

its democracy, you haven't done anything to win me over so you should kind of expect me to not support you. im not going to spend money on an emergency election just because some crime happened and a small number of right wing democrats signed a petition.

Again, this isn’t about me. Why do you think so many signed the petitions? Do you think anyone who’s reasonable could disagree with the A. The manner in which and B. decisions have been made, at the DA’s office?

i dont think very many people signed the petitions, i dont think 80,000 is a large number of people in san francisco. furthermore you did it by doing incredibly weird things like giving out covid shots then tricking people into signing the petition on their way out.

I didn’t do any of those things, again, you’re not defending what the DA’s office has done, only that he’s “progressive”. It’s politics in a silo. The department of elections will review the signatures for validity, and it’s a larger number than voted for the DA to begin with.

you did do those things, thats how you collected signatures. also if you're so sure you can win elections then just win an election. you're just doing this recall thing because you know you can't win democratically.

i dont have to defend the elected DA, he won an election fair and square and thats how he became the DA, none of that requires my defense.

Yes he did indeed win according to the rules, no argument there. But the decisions his office have made in the interim has - in many peoples minds - done serious and lasting damage, which is why they went to the lengths to get two recall petitions drafted.

they havent gone through any lengths at all to do it the right way, so i oppose them.

if you cant even name a replacement for boudin then i oppose, you need a replacement before you think about removing the current DA, sorry.

That’s not how it works, and I don’t need to provide a replacement to anyone, the mayor will appoint an interim replacement, per the law. The voters will vote on whether to remove him, not me, sorry.
