I’m proud to co-author HB 1548 to provide across the board raises to all of our teachers and school support staff. Teachers have always put our communities first — now it’s time for us to return the favor and prioritize the hard working teachers in Texas

Our office was excited to attend the Richardson State of the City Address. The level of innovation and design coming to this community is breathtaking, & I'm honored to be one of their representatives in the Texas House. Thank you to Mayor Paul Voelker on your decade of service!

If our children are our number one priority — then our budget should reflect that. We have a historic opportunity to invest our multi-billion dollar surplus in our schools, our teachers, and our communities. We must also address recapture so we can keep our tax dollars in our ISD

I can’t overstate the importance of learning and teaching our history. When atrocity occurs, we can not sweep it under the rug, look away, or rewrite history. We must face that truth, however gruesome, and make sure it never happens again to anyone.

I’m proud to announce that our bill, HB 1014, is gaining momentum in the House. Rep. Josey Garcia is the latest co-author on our bill to support families with dogs and survivors fleeing an abusive home. This bill would be a victory for all 254 counties in our great state.

Happy #MLKDay! I encourage everyone to take time to reflect on the life and teachings of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. May we have the audacity to dream of a better world and the courage to make the world better. This is a photo of Dr. King at Lovefield Airport in 1959
