I had a great meeting today with leaders from the North Texas Municipal Water District and Baylor Scott & White. Keeping the lights on, providing clean water, and making healthcare accessible are my first responsibilities as your state representative.

If you can read this, thank a teacher. Then call your state representatives and senators to support our push to increase teacher and support staff pay.

If our children are our number one priority — then our budget should reflect that. We have a historic opportunity to invest our multi-billion dollar surplus in our schools, our teachers, and our communities. We must also address recapture so we can keep our tax dollars in our ISD

I’m proud to stand alongside my colleagues to fight for across the board raises for teachers and school support staff. Almost a third of Texas teachers have left the profession they love because of underfunding. Without strong teachers and great schools, Texas would not be Texas

I can’t overstate the importance of learning and teaching our history. When atrocity occurs, we can not sweep it under the rug, look away, or rewrite history. We must face that truth, however gruesome, and make sure it never happens again to anyone.
