Where will the Moon and Bepi be, in relation to each other, when Bepi crosses the Moon’s orbit?
BepiColombo now 180,000 km outbound from Earth, back in what I consider `deep space'. It will pass the Moon's orbit around midnight US Eastern time (0400 UTC)

A question: What is it that's "officially" considered as the threshold of deep space? The cis-lunar periphery or the Hill sphere of the Earth? If it's either of those, wouldn't the probe currently still be sufficiently inside both of those extremities?

I wrote a paper on this recently, advocating the lunar 1:4 resonance as a suitable boundary, about 154000 km out.
