I haven't done a detailed trajectory model but I think the missiles were in space for most of their flight, and therefore outside (above) Iraqi airspace.
Iran fired several Zolfiqar and Qiam-1 missiles from the Kermanshah region to eastern Syria at around 0h GMT Oct 1. According to Iran the missiles, with high explosive warheads , were aimed at ISIS terrorist bases.
