A quick recap on “blowout Berejiklian”. $1.3b blowout on the light rail. $225m blowout on the high rise school. $100m extra on the Sydney stadium. $116m on Walsh Bay. An absurd $1.5b to move the Powerhouse. And now an extra $4.3b on Sydney Metro. No respect for taxpayers.

Clearly and are like and reject expert evidence. Many people I’ve talked to, caught up in the fires in Cobargo and beyond, believe this.

Many, many people in Cobargo and the region are not falling for the “burn the bush” deflection. Real experts and others here know that these fires were different and burned through areas already burnt. I’ve talked to them.

True to form the odious Jim Molan CC denier. BL finger pointing at Michael Mann CC scientist & the audience. Rude, authoritative, arrogant, aggressive, offensive, invasive, trying to dominate. A symbolic shooting of someone, double finger point threat display.

No doubt the BOM has been cut to the bone, but how much do small, localised weather stations cost and is this something communities, State or local governments should be funding? As I said, this is a matter of life and death. Ends

We spent much of the week on additional preparations to defend, expecting the worst. It was a brutally hot day, but wind speeds and directions where nowhere near those forecast or available in real time. 4/5

information on the BOM and other weather apps, like Willy Weather, is drawn from stations in Bega and Montague Island, both of which have dramatically different weather patterns. Information about wind speed, direction changes, gusts are vital 3/5

Where we live, near Cobargo, faces fire threats to the north, south and east. Yesterday, the RFS predictions site (which already has us, incorrectly, as “burnt”) was forecasting horrific conditions, including ember attacks and possible fire. 2/5

thread: The need for accurate, timely, localised weather forecasting - rain, wind, humidity etc - is a life and death issue for many of us in regional areas affected by recent fires. Take yesterday as an example 1/5
