Goodbye Twitter! Leukaemia has finally got the best of me and this is my last tweet. Twitter has provided entertainment, information, and the chance to 'meet' lots of nice people, so thank you. Don't be too sad, I've had a long and happy life.

the bishop of orlando is also the bishop of the moon, due to a canon law that says "any newly discovered territory would fall under the bishopric from whence the discovering expedition departed". his is therefore the largest catholic diocese, at over 14,000,000 square miles

It was hard to share this much detail in my maiden speech but if this experience can be used to help other who experience difficulties then it will be worth it.

The fact that UCC hid a 3000-year-old mummy under the floorboards of a lecture theatre on a campus where two and a half tonnes of uranium rods were being stored in a basement nearby and DIDN'T end up with a zombie-pharaoh apocalypse is both a mystery and endlessly disappointing.

Today, Polish Holocaust survivor, historian and journalist Marian Turski gave an extraordinary speech at . I searched for an English translation but could not find one, so decided to do one myself. I only wish I could do proper justice to it.

Thread time! Meet Mary Burchell, one of the most successful romance writers EVER. Over 110 Mills & Boons to her name. Got an image of her in your head now, right? Bin it. Because Mary is a Righteous Gentile. She wrote books to fund her efforts to help Jews escape Nazi Germany

To all who have sent messages re thank you so so much. The compassion is so heartening. I’m not leaving the BBC but no more war or traumatising situations. In due course. I will talk about but for now it’s time to focus on recovery and different work.

Jan 21 - This isn't something we usually forecast, but don't be surprised if you see Iguanas falling from the trees tonight as lows drop into the 30s and 40s. Brrrr!

The photo on the left comes from the National Folklore Collection and was taken on the Great Blasket in 1932. The photo on the right was taken by me in September. Almost a century apart and thankfully, very little has changed on the Great Blasket.
