The rise of money within vertical software will lead to interesting business models: - High margin financial services within low margin/free software - Low margin/free financial services within high margin software And everything in between.

Mumbai police are testing "The Punishing Signal": the more motorists honk, the longer they will have to wait at traffic signals as the signal won’t turn green unless the decibel level is below 85dB. This is pure genius 😂

I have been surprised that more companies haven’t done “ for X” - ie a reverse franchise where you take over a bunch of the business functions, a reverse franchise. It has to be done right with a lot of guidelines, else you wreck your brand (like oyo)

Today I had a meeting at a 100+ year old community bank in a small town (<10k people). It's nice to remember that banks used to be as mundane an institution as the book shop or the restaurant next door. Just humans solving local problems. Not faceless, not "too big to fall".

"Voters who... had eaten at an Indian restaurant were less likely to choose Trump by 10-12%." In the Dem race in Iowa, Indian food eaters pref Bernie. Only 40% of Bidens supporters have eaten Indian food in the past 10 years... they are really missing out.

Shit now 3 diff founders that I’ve met have messaged thinking I was referring to them specifically. I’m not referring to anyone in particular- this is a common pet peeve

P2P wallets are one of the few true network effects businesses in Fintech, and they can pay off really really well. US-based VC’s tend to not take them seriously bc Venmo was not a successful vc bet and Cash app was built within . Lots of opportunity in other markets still.

One of my favorite stories of all time is that a movie about financial fraud (starring Leo no less!) was paid for with ... wait for it ... one of the largest financial frauds in history:
