I don't know - honestly, it's painful to watch but I just can't get that worked up about it. To me there's a big difference when he targets one person like Maza with hate speech, vs general terrible racist "comedy" stereotypes

I don't wanna be pointed, but have you considered that the "difference" that keeps you from getting worked up is that Maza is a lone individual who you can empathize with, while an overall racial group is a bit harder to emotionally identify with, even if the attacks are similar?

I don't think the attacks are similar. For one, the clip posted above isn't really an attack. It's just broad, extra-not-funny stereotype "jokes". But the attacks on Maza are definitely attacks. They are targeting him specifically for scorn and ridicule.

If Crowder did a bit about "lispy queers" generally I would have a similar reaction to the clip above. It's gross, not funny, but not bannable. When you start targeting individuals with specific harassment, it's very different to me (whether I like the targeted person or not)

It's certainly different, but they're both against Youtube's (stated) rules for good reason. The "general" mockery of minorities encourages direct harassment against anyone in the targeted groups—and itself functions as harassment of a different kind.

The difference between "general" bigotry and "targeted" harassment is the difference between walking on a floor of nails and having nailguns fired at you. The former serves as a passive, steady, environmental condemnation of your existence, regardless of whether it's "personal".

I think having nailguns fired at you is worse than walking on a floor of nails. I appreciate you taking the time to express your viewpoint and I respect it. I don't know how to explain myself any better so I will just leave it at that. Feel better soon! :)
