Hiking the Dipsea Trail for a super fun work project w/ our photo and data teams. I am not a hiker or outdoors person and generally have a bad sense of direction. First time on this trail. Hope there arenโ€™t a lot of stairs!! ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ’ฏ

Banned?! Seriously? I often have mixed feelings about being a "woman in tech". I just see myself as an engineer, my gender is irrelevant. But then shit like this happens, and I remember why gender (or any under-represented status) is not irrelevant, much as I wish it was. Ugh.

I woke up this morning to a news alert that our @GirlsWhoCode middle-grade book series was banned by some school districts as part of the Mom for Liberty effort to ban books. To be honest, I am so angry I cannot breathe. newsweek.com/handmaids-tale

Though I won't make the 40 under 40 year list (arriving in the deadline soon), I did get promoted to Director of Engineering joining many people I respect and admire. I hope to use my new responsibilities to continue pushing on DEI efforts while building cool things.

one of the dirty secrets of silicon valley is called the infinite scroll which caused a massive boom in usage in every single product. no one talks about it because itโ€™s better ux but itโ€™s one of the most psychologically destructive things to ever happenโ€”a blip on the radar.

I travelled to various conferences in the last decade I've seen people dealt with sexual advances from strangers (omg), from coworkers (omfg), from team leads (omffffg), from managers (yikesssss)... No one deserves to be treated this poorly while doing their job.

Just now, someone who had hidden their badge cornered me at my booth and insisted he'd seen me at kink parties. I told him that was inappropriate and also to leave me alone, but he wouldn't let it go, and I had to walk around the back of the booth to get away from him.

Just got word that next week will be my last week at one of my jobs, so I'm on the hunt again. I'm looking for one (1) job with a design team (important) that doesn't care what country I'm working from (vital) and pays enough to keep running a part-time game studio (crucial).
