    We are open to any geographic focus within Asia. Course distribution will likely include: 1 introductory course; 2 mid-level courses; 1 upper-division seminar. Fifth course is usually advising senior theses in the spring.

    Number three, I'd introduce the whole cosmos of Buddhas and bodhisattvas traveling across dimensions and manifesting stuff here and there. Throw in Vimalakirti, some other badasses with crazy siddhis, and hardcore bodhisattva warriors of compassion doing battle with maras.

    Number two for me is the notion of meditation. Whatever you think is going on in that space (and Buddhists have a whole lot of different ideas about what exactly is going on), the whole notion that you can transform your perception of reality through practice is I think key.

    I think my number one take-home point is the idea that human beings are on a path to perfection through one’s own practice. I think this is different than certain other traditions where your fate is fixed or you are dependent on the grace of a deity for salvation.
