I'm going to regret asking this I'm sure but...what *are* "women's hard won sex based rights"? I ask this as someone with an MA in the history of gender and sexuality. I genuinely don't know what people mean when they say "hard won sex based rights". It's such a vague phrase.

It's a clearly nonsense phrase, it's worrying to see it repeated wholesale by someone with such a big platform.

I was an abortion rights campaigner in the UK, late 80s, with Marxist, Environmental, Radical, Liberal, all types of feminists. All saw restrictions as patriarchal control of women, depriving of body autonomy, but not oppression based on biology. Sex-based rights wasn't a thing.

No way is that top result (Women's Declaration) over 5 years old anyway - never mind that the time reference says 2007, the declaration wasn't even launched until like 2018. Also it's explicitly anti-trans so, you know, 'sex based rights' my ass.

If a webpage isn't dated properly, then Google has a tendency to grab the first date in the content of the page (and there are dates in the references). Others are older pages where the phrase is in comments. I think it's definitely more recent than 2015.
