It sounded to me like the work group came to the table anticipating an age-based recommendation or at most extending the pause for a narrower subpopulation, but that a vocal minority disagreed. And to be fair, the eight cases identified by JnJ now include a 25yo man & 59yo woman.

Overall tenor of the discussion implied that even more uncertainty-averse members are primarily concerned about accurately pinning down the relevant risk factors & affected populations. Assuming similar rates to AZ, I doubt they will vote to discontinue use for all groups.

I do think it's noteworthy that neither "preferential recommendation" nor "shared clinical decision making" were invoked in the menu of policy options.
