    This is a particularly egregious case, & the vast majority of providers are as disgusted by this as the average patient. It does highlight, though, how misalignment of incentives can harm patients. The harm is often much more subtle than this.

    Callus on the diabetic foot = lump in the breast: needs to be checked! Just like we screen for breast cancer with mammography, you can use to screen for diabetic foot complications. Helping keep our vets out of the rough and avoid a bogey.
