photography twitter have any of you had bad zeiss glass before?

Not one of the pictures I’ve taken on my 50mm 1.7 Planar T* has been as sharp as my Zuiko 50 on the OM2 (which is currently broken)

I’m thinking either my copy is a dud or there is some haze I can’t see, but a service costs as much as buying a lens off eBay

I’m using the same film, same processing, and same digitising method, so I feel like it’s reasonably well controlled
