Considering small-size networks seems to be reasonable when we investigate the exact nature of opinion correlation in social interaction, too. Discussion under approximation may not work in such a case and a large number of nodes is useless (*for me, just as a theorist).

Learning about the DHC Theorem (with Linyuan Lu) - taking H-index from citation metrology and applying it to networks. Does this mean that core ness and degree quantify how citation is constrained by the habits of a scientists community?

sad to have missed this talk. I am a big fan of the "science of small networks". This is the smallest graph with 5 distinct centers (traditional indices+subgraph centrality)

Petter Holme is making the case for studying *small* networks. He’s got 7 reasons, historical context, and spectacular gifs to make his case.

I think the transition from junior and senior prof is when you can't count the papers in your pipeline any longer . . not because seniors necessarily have more, but that "being in R&R", stops being binary

Reminds me of the Rational Choice "controversy" of the late 1990s. Exactly the same rhetorical slippage from sharp (but empirically wrong) definition to all-encompassing non-falsifiable brand.

So excited to announce this publication from my PhD! How can humpback whales learn their song SO fast spread it SO far? It's all in the structure! They have "rhymes" and rules that make learning easier! Access it here or shoot me a message!
