I'm still convinced that Bloomberg will fail, but this is still creepy as fuck, even though I've been joking about it. Some people compare his campaign to Trump's, but it's completely different. Trump actually spent way less than Clinton and most of it was from small donations.https://twitter.com/lhfang/status/1229544331071180800 …

And Clinton raised almost twice as much as him, so again Trump's campaign was very different from what Bloomberg's promises to be. It's probably because Trump just doesn't have that kind of cash, but that doesn't make the difference any less real.https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/graphics/2016-presidential-campaign-fundraising/ …

Note that it's going to be different in 2020, because Trump's campaign has already been raising tons of money, so unless Bloomberg wins the nomination Republicans are probably going to vastly outspend the Dems. A lot of that money will still come from small donations though.

Even if you don't think political advertising works that great, which it probably doesn't, this gap in spending is still going to move the needle somewhat and the gap will be even larger if the Dems go to a brokered convention, as seems increasingly likely.

They still could only give this undeniable fact a "mostly true" lol.

I remember one time during the campaign where they rated a claim by Trump that was 100% demonstrably true, *as their own article showed*, as totally false
