It assumes that conservative ideas (or any set of ideas, for that matter) have equal appeal for all peoples and cultures. History does not support that.

American conservatives are clueless about that, even as their Democrat opponents openly declare that large scale immigration will make the country more left-wing.

Not only that, but people's actual ideology is not that relevant. Different demographics have different interests and vote accordingly. Even more so in the era of identity politics. Opinions about the free market and such are secundary.
