Someone on your holiday gift list who still says things like "nonprofits should be more 'business-like'" or "I don't want my donations wasted on salaries, I want them to go to the 'cause'." If so, I have just the gift idea for them:

If you don’t like my tweets I will report you to the New York Times editorial board for violating my fundamental human right to have all of my ideas liked. I will publish a 1,200 word piece about how somebody oppressed me by shifting uncomfortably in their chair as I spoke.

This is an outstanding book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and engaging the ideas and arguments. There is much to learn in here about development dynamics in Egypt and also about US development policy (in Egypt and in general) - what works and what doesn't.

Do it, Krystian! I remember the Peter Drucker article from years ago making this argument. But there is much more to say and I’d be first in line to buy your book…

If you doubt how powerful “cancel culture” is, look what happened to Joe Rogan! Just kidding, he’s still getting paid hundreds of millions of dollars to lie about COVID

The world does not need 1 more book from someone who doesn’t really understand nonprofits wildly generalizing that nonprofits aren’t effective (not gen true) & that answer is to operate “like business” (meaningless invocation & to the extent it has meaning it’s bad advice)

I think people are confused about the meaning of the word “censorship.”

The heart compels you to use your head. Two minutes of gratuitous advice from me for individual donors. Thanks for making this little video.

This webinar is important. Look, I know individual foundations can't (and shouldn't try to) do everything. But, in aggregate, philanthropy is overlooking crucial communities that face distinct and huge obstacles related to historic and present-day racism.

Since 2008, YouthTruth has been on a mission to help education and philanthropic leaders listen to and act on student feedback. We’ve helped our partners across the United States hear from more than 2 million students and hundreds of thousands of staff and families.

We can and should lament that this kind of work needs to be done. But it does need to be done. So pitch in and support and other organizations like it in communities across this country.

If you haven't read Giving Done Right or Decolonizing Wealth, you should. Both & speak to the point of funding without onerous restrictions because communities & nonprofit leaders actually have great ideas about what will help.

Have you signed up for our upcoming webinar focused on systematic underfunding of AAPI & Native communities? The data we'll share is disheartening but we have great speakers to help us understand the many ways this matters and what to do.

OMG she's an intern for the right-wing group that did the bogus poll that she cited. And notice the NYT sent a photographer down to illustrate her piece. So who set this up? , we deserve to know.
