Al Gore (centrist) - lost John Kerry (centrist) - lost Hillary Clinton (centrist) - lost While also a centrist, Barack Obama campaigned as a progressive and won handily in 2008. If the Democratic candidate is someone other than Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump will be reelected.

Why did Michael Bloomberg contribute to George W. Bush's 2004 presidential campaign? Bloomberg also donated to George H.W. Bush in 1991. Why aren't centrists upset that Bloomberg's running as a Democrat and was allowed to buy his way onto the debate stage?
