Dear American Jewish hasbaraniks: lets be clear.Discussing anti-Black racism among North American Jews is not "anti-Semitic bait." anti-Semitic bait is a community hellbent on being immature&not confronting its own issues& living up to perceptions of selfishness.

Today's post will be about FIRST PAGES. What to do, what not to do. As always, YMMV, my way is not the only way, and of course outliers can get away with crazy stuff. My experience comes from reading 100s if not 1000s of first pages in my classes, workshops, etc. So!

I’ve got a short story that wants to be a novella, which is on my to be written list. In the mean time, do I just submit the short story to markets that don’t take novellas? Because if an open-to-novellas market rejects the short story then I couldn’t send the novella there, yes?

I’ve had my location turned off for Twitter for years but when I go to see why it’s suddenly tagging my tweets with the type of my phone, I find location is turned on. Not cool, Twitter. Not cool.

So, today, I'm gonna continue my train of thought from yesterday and brainstorm some ideas about going beyond the basics when it comes to respecting converts. For context, go here:

Hello, I'm an programmer in a movie. I'm white, male, and conspicuously nerdy, and everything I code works on the first try. I'm the Best Coder because I'm a fast typist, and I type extra fast in programming emergencies. I never Google error messages. There are no error messages.

1993: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine premiered with "Emissary." The goal was for it to be like a western, starting with a man and his son arriving at a frontier town on the edge of known civilization. It's the only Trek series (so far) that didn't take place aboard ship.
