Protesters gathered outside and in at the Starbucks at 18th and Spruce in Philadelphia, where two African-American men were arrested on Thursday. Starbucks CEO wants to apologize to the men 'face to face' for the 'reprehensible outcome.' https://bit.ly/2HpV0CE pic.twitter.com/1SKyuVolXm

What does their color have to do with it? These places aren’t park benches, they are businesses. Many races and walks of life have had to buy something to use a restroom or have a meeting somewhere. When you refuse then refuse to leave, you are the one escalating the situation

Actually, Starbucks has always been known as a social gathering place, where 20 something’s would hang out day/night. I’ve done exactly what these guys did and the staff didn’t look at me twice. It’s a fair question to ask if these guys were white, would 911 have been called?

Not true. It is a social gathering place of business. You need to purchase something to use the facilities. You don’t just get to walk in there for free.

That’s not been my experience at all locations. I’ve done exactly what these two men did and haven’t had a word said to me, with no purchase. I’ve also been told I have to buy something. It depends on the location.

Okay okay okay I get it but why didn’t they just purchase some coffee or something?? that way they could have used the bathroom....so they wanted to use the facility for FREE at least the could’ve purchased something...they made it worse all they had to do was leave...REALLY ‼️

@Starbucks is the epitome of liberalism in the USA. Nothing better than liberals eating their own!

The police should be suspended for responding to a 911 call, giving a lawful order, and then arresting them for refusing to obey the lawful order? This is a Starbucks issue not police.

Yes. If the business doesn't want you there and the police order you to leave on behalf of said business, that is a lawful order.

Rubbish! Fault lies with Starbucks & the police - we all should be mindful of our actions and accountable

PPD already said that the police did nothing against policy. Just because you have an opinion, doesn't make it correct.

Never been a fan of protesting. Hit em in the pockets though.I am not buying anything from Starbucks until the individuals at the 18th and Spruce location are terminated. Clean house bc more than likely it wasn’t the first time.
