Gonna start pronouncing “cringe” as “Kring-é” and see if I can create a recursive cringe so powerful it consumes the universe

When you’re watching tv and a character goes underwater so you try to hold your breath the same length of time to check if you would have survived too - other people do that right???

Felt like it was missing some cosiness so here’s a version with a kind of framing hug?? Let me know which you prefer :)
Illustration of a hummingbird in a mushroom cap waving at a happy mushroom. This version has a scrappy, painty border so it looks like you’re peering through a muddy window

I’ve come up with an interim solution to the queuing issue to see the Queen’s coffin in Westminster, let me know what you think, it’s not perfect but I don’t see anyone else coming up with anything

Even if there is only one person at my funeral, I’m going to demand they queue for nine hours. Thus ensuring there will be no one at my funeral.

I would not have survived the last year without Natalie assisting me on management. On top of that, she's an excellent writer, editor, cohost, and friend. If you don't already know about her, you should and then hire her.

Hi! I was just laid off from Fanbyte. I literally have my weekly therapy appointment in 15 minutes, so I’ll take some time to recuperate and breathe, but I’ll be tweeting to look for some freelance work later on.

Every single time I’ve left a job in entertainment media to do something else I got told how well I looked.

It's also why many of us left. I feel 20 years younger after having left games media, but I'm REALLY proud of the impact I have had. That being said, I didn't realize what a husk I had become until I left. People love to hate on writers, but they go through hell in this space.

Paired with low pay, constant abuse, having to be "plugged in" all of the time to stay informed and be the source you want people to be able to trust; it's a losing game. This industry is losing so much talent because we want the instant gratification factor; quality takes time.

In games media even if you meet and exceed all expectations, work nights and weekends, and implement and execute awesome things against impossible odds, you still wake up every morning wondering when the layoffs are coming. Ain't right.

I mean, this feels kinda obvious, but also if we have to sit through a Milliband-at-Greggs news cycle where Charles chokes down a ketchup and crisp sarnie as evidence for a royal warrant, I'm going to freak.

(the Oxford one is far more frustrating in real life, but please know that I used an Oxford comma in the alt text, partly because I use them all the time to avoid ambiguities, and partly because of spite.)

The world gets sort of sparkly and unreal, and you have these micro-blackouts that make time feel like it's turning to syrup. And that's without the surreal pageantry of the whole thing. It truly feels like we're setting up the prime conditions for reporting ghosts and visions.

I've dealt with insomnia all my life, and one of the things that happens to me is audio and visual hallucinations. I've seen threads bobbing in front of my eyes and reached out to touch them. I've heard people that weren't there calling my name.

if The Queue never stops moving and one isn't allowed to sleep and takes 30 hours to get to the catafalque... isn't everyone going to be delirious by the time they view the coffin?
