Never really know how to react when someone says a movie 'doesn't look like it was shot in the Philippines' like that's a good thing.

Marikina City is known for its dedicated bike lanes and this is just one of them. But as much as I love this quiet, semi-idyllic path, I hesitate cycling here alone, as a woman, esp at night. Secluded, no lamp posts. This is why women should be part of any urban planning efforts.

Some monkeypox context, bc we need that I guess. Full disclosure: I'm not a human doctor. I'm a doctor for crops. So this comes from the POV of agricultural epidemiology: how diseases hang out in the landscape & sometimes run into people & the plants/animals we hang out with.

I am not necessarily against nuclear energy, but I'm skeptical of the safe, responsible operation of a local plant, which faces the extra challenge of being in a disaster-prone country. Why take the risk?

I guess it doesn't really matter, but news people should be directing the SONA, and it should be presented as a news broadcast. Anything else is pointless distraction.

There is a universe where media doesn't feed on controversy, and just stops talking to people who say stupid shit that gets people mad.

JUST IN: The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on Tuesday said that folded banknotes, whether paper or polymer, can still be circulated and accepted for payment. “As such, retailers and banks should accept them for day-to-day payment transactions,” the BSP said. 📸 BSP

Did you know that we have a Judicial Integrity Board? A fairly new body, it promises to weed out the bad guys in judiciary, and do it quickly (2-4 months, they say). For details on how to send complaints - even anonymous ones - to the JIB, click story.
