I started out with $70,000 of debt. I’ve paid about $60,000 towards that debt, but due to interest, instead of $10,000 I still owe $45,000 14 years later. A lot of “student debt forgiveness” is actually more like “interest forgiveness.” Seems fine to me.

If prison & police actually prevented crime or produced public safety, the US would be the safest country in the world. The reality is that prison is crimonogenic & police DO NOT produce public safety. Anyone arguing for more prison & police is ignoring 50yrs of policy failure.

The people of Florida overwhelmingly chose to restore voting rights to nearly everyone convicted of a felony. Yet state lawmakers made it so difficult for those with felonies to register legally that some now face years in prison. Read this👇🧵

I've been working on this investigative piece for seven months, please read. When we talk about police in schools, we should be considering the power police officers have over children, particularly children of color.
