I would love to see someone combine the stability of DAI with the privacy of Zcash shielded transactions. That might actually make cryptocurrency usable for day to day transactions!https://twitter.com/lrettig/status/1073194560694693888 …

For a coin to have both stability and wide retail usage, it needs two things. A market cap in the $ trillions and no KYC. If it doesn't, it's either too volatile or inferior to CC/paypal respectively.

DAI contradicts that assertion as it has purchasing power stability with a market cap <$100 million

Nothing stops it from having wide retail adoption. Gotta start somewhere.

How about: there is no demand for such a thing. This is the Ethereum problem in a nutshell isn't it. Build all kinds of cool shit but back in the real world... nobody really cares about it because what they already use works

Yes it works so well that in some countries inflation is 1 million % per year and in first world countries people have their money frozen or seized every day!

If ever your stablecoin grows to serve an entire country, it will fail. Until then, best keep your focus on Bitcoin, the only thing that has an actual shot at solving the problems you highlight

@phanaero you can do (the protocol allows) distributed stablecoins now over LN with a few lines of code, my idea is free: https://tree.taiga.io/project/tril0byte-perilin/us/24 … Let me know if anyone wants to work or is already on it and I'll add a link.2 replies 0 retweets 1 like
