Sad news to hear that telltale is shutting down, BUT! Their games have been really disappointing for the last few years. Not sure if no one played them or just forgot?

Thats his point
-
That is not his point. Its not a missed sale if someone wouldnt buy the game to begin with, so them watching it on youtube doesnt make any difference
-
that's kind of fallacious since what matters in this scenario is the number of potential customer. This is still a contributing factor for the narrow appeal of these games.
-
Don't confuse "I'm not going to buy/play the game so I'll watch it on YouTube" with "I watched it on YouTube so I don't need to buy/play it".
-
i watch it on youtube cause i enjoy the commentary not becouse i dont wanna play or buy the game but i play that game anyway
-
implication and equivalence are not the same thing.
-
yeah well, how those Quantic Dream still alive? they have the same concept.

I’ve done the opposite of this multiple times, I don’t keep up with video games much but I watch youtubers play them and when i see a game that i like I buy it and I’m sure the same happens for many people. I wouldn’t know these games exist if it wasn’t for play-throughs

That’s a good point actually because I’ve watched a lot of playthroughs and treat it more like watching a movie. I’m not interested in single player games as much.
-
In case of "Become Human" I've watched pewds lets play and thought I should buy the game. But I watched the different endings of other creators on yt so I wouldn't have to buy the game. I think its a valid point in some cases. Cyberpunk for example I'll buy and play 100% my self.
-
I’ve watch most of his play throughs since 2013 and I’ve never bought a single player game. I’m also just cheap as fuck so it’s an odd case.

This is true. I watched a bunch of different endings for Detroit for example because I do not own a PS4. So I knew I'd never get it, so no spoilers for my own play through.
-
This. Same with "Until Dawn" it seems like all the big people were playing it differently so it made Mark, Jack, and Pewds playthrough unique and interesting.
-
Yessir. Then I could talk about the games with any PS4 friends as if I played it myself. I could also recommend it to people who havent played it
-
I watchd two whole, very different playthroughs of Until Dawn, on different channels, and still bought the game for my boyfriend at the time so we could play it together. Such a good game.

If they were not planning on buying it why watch it in the first place

I mean telltale says in their games or gives off the feeling that you’ll have a different ending every time but it was found that..we all got the same end only thing they change is what the characters say

Not true! I'd love to buy all these different games, but I'm disabled and broke. I can't afford them, so my only option is to watch YouTubers play them. Believe me, if I could buy all these games, I would, and I would play the hell out of them... But that's not how it is.
