Sad news to hear that telltale is shutting down, BUT! Their games have been really disappointing for the last few years. Not sure if no one played them or just forgot?

Yeah thats true, not that im taking his side, but there are so many gaming channels out there that will play the same game and each will have a slight if not huge difference in ending or playthroughs people can just go watch all of em if they didnt like how one ended
-
I think people doing that would most likely not buy the game to begin with.
-
Thats his point
-
That is not his point. Its not a missed sale if someone wouldnt buy the game to begin with, so them watching it on youtube doesnt make any difference
-
that's kind of fallacious since what matters in this scenario is the number of potential customer. This is still a contributing factor for the narrow appeal of these games.
-
Don't confuse "I'm not going to buy/play the game so I'll watch it on YouTube" with "I watched it on YouTube so I don't need to buy/play it".
-
i watch it on youtube cause i enjoy the commentary not becouse i dont wanna play or buy the game but i play that game anyway
-
implication and equivalence are not the same thing.

>Any good story game will have different outcomes and decisions to incentivise your own playthrough. And that was the first Walking Dead I presume? lmao try replaying it
-
The first game could at least sell the illusion that there wasn't lack of substance to their games. Also >Greentext twitterpic.twitter.com/oaGfN5AIx8

I didn’t buy Detroit because of your play through. After you got me hooked to the series, I just watched YouTube clips of all the different out comes of different moments. I experienced practically the whole game without having to buy it because of YouTube.
-
Hey guys. I experienced this one thing myself and didn't do a thing therefore that's what happened for everyone
-
You should read more replies to this, some has said that even with youtube they still bought the game, not only detroit but others
-
You don't even need to read replies. It's a terrible way to get data anyway. There's a reason literally every dev likes videos of their game being made and even pays for promotions

You have no idea what you're talking about. If it wasn't for you or other YouTubers I would definitely have bought TWD. The differences per playthrough are extremely minimal.

Dude, this is exactly why "Let's players" exist. To review the game so other buy it if they like it. Have a visibility that they wouldn't. Trust me, less people would buy it and they would go bankrupt just earlier.

Sadly its this. Telltales games became so stale and the same people just stopped buying them. What I think is sad about this is Telltale got rid of their shitty CEO and they finally started to make better games again, but I guess the damage was done and they didnt recover.

I have never bought a telltale game, because I watched the playthroughs on YT. YouTubers don’t want to admit it but it’s becoming evident that play throughs kill certain gaming companies

honestly they should just make movies with multiple endings, like extras, or like a tv show on netflix
