I always thought that he was someone who should be in the room, asking hard questions about entitlements, because both parties have their head in the sand on this But he was never someone whose ideas, which were brutally unpopular, should have been adhered to

For the record, social security I think is eminently fixable. Medicare is another thing entirely. I don't like that any questions on entitlements lump the two together as the same thing.
