Only reason to go with TD would be proximity to US branch of TD (East coast only). Getting CAD $ here with TD was a nightmare.

Right, I want something that plays nice w/my US-Canada lifestyle—I shuttle money back & forth via Transferwise, there must be a better way.

I don't know anything about RBC, but they couldn't be any worse than TD. I did get a visit to out of it, though.
