wrt useful data, do you collect stats on plans? Eg:how many queries use hashjoin? # of buckets used for a hashjoin?

Some of that (# hashjoins) can be extracted with pg_stat_plans - its EXPLAIN stuff should be made principled soon.

If external query pg_stat_statements stuff can be generalized from, that can be merged, un-kludging pgsp's EXPLAIN stuff.
