Reading "Nonlinear Dynamics and Chaos" from gives a lot of "oh, I remember this from the university!", but with more intuition behind. And who could think there is an interesting math behind zebra stripes pattern formation!

There are similar (or similar sounding) observations about animal markings in "A New Kind of Science". I found the book interesting, though I can't say that it convinced me of all that much.
