Alas, there wasn't an option to target that to the development of a write-optimized storage engine for PG.

FWIW the startup that I just joined (Zenith) is building an open source Postgres extension that uses log-structured storage. The design is much closer to Aurora than MyRocks, though - efficiency and write amp are not the main goal. Changes very little within the standard AMs.

Would be great to hear your thoughts! Especially on the conceptual framework for discussing the design. Everything is moving very quickly, as you'd expect. But design docs are mostly there. And the system is being developed in the open.
