In-memory DB systems that claim strong TPC-C results are unlikely to ever get result certified. Spec has a limit on transactions per minute per warehouse. Must crank-up warehouses to the point where a terabyte of storage is required with Postgres. A small DB's TPM is irrelevant.

Well a TB of memory isn’t that hard to come by these days... but yes I agree with your point :)

Doesn't matter. There is a need for 1 terabyte storage on mid-range machine, but more storage is required as throughput increases (for whatever reason). You're virtually guaranteed to be I/O bound because you cannot exceed ~12 transactions per minute per warehouse.
