    So am I the only one who manages to get a (small) stream of crash reports with "BUG IN LIBDISPATCH: flawed group/semaphore logic"?

        @peternlewis I still get those, though less often with recent versions of OS X.

        @mjtsai what I'd love to know is - is it really a bug in libdispatch, or is it my misusing it somehow.

        @peternlewis Not sure. I’ve gotten that error in apps that didn’t call any libdispatch APIs…

        @mjtsai I have a semi-reliable case with CFPreferences (in that, I get consistent crash reports related to a specific use of CFPreferences)

        @peternlewis The sheer number of places in semaphore.c that can emit that message makes me sad. ☹ https://www.opensource.apple.com/source/libdispatch/libdispatch-84.5.5/src/semaphore.c …

        @boredzo I got a bunch through CFPreferences, but occasionally see them elsewhere - no idea if the two are related. Sigh. Stumped DTS too…

        @peternlewis I wonder if @Catfish_Man would know anything about that.

        @boredzo @peternlewis would be happy to look at some crash logs

        @catfish_man @boredzo They are attached to rdar://problem/16339138. They stumped DTS and the CFPreferences guys, so I'm trying avoidance…

        @peternlewis @boredzo I believe I know what’s going on with your test app, but I’d be surprised if it’s the same as the real one.

        @catfish_man @boredzo the test code never generated the LIBDISPATCH crash in any event.

        @peternlewis @boredzo the test app is impressive though. Literally the first time I’ve seen that log message fire as a false positive.

        @siegel I guess I'm just lucky - I always have had fun with chained iocompletions, err, I mean async blocks…

        @peternlewis blocks > chained iocompletions :-)

      @peternlewis (I should probably file a bug about it when I get to work…)
