Is there any list out there that maps the need for 32-bit support against hardware and macOS minimum requirements? Example: Let's say…
I have an app that requires 10.8 or newer. Does 10.8 even run on any kind of Mac that doesn't do 64 bit? Can I look that up somewhere?

(Sierra has introduced some more 64- vs. 32-bit differences. And I'm getting tired of declaring instance variables in Objective-C headers.)

@petermaurer Is there a reason why you’re still supporting 32-bit? Are you still supporting pre-10.6? -
@mmunz This is exactly what I'm asking about — are you saying 10.6 will only run on 64-bit Macs? - View other replies

@petermaurer Don’t know how many of your customers use 10.6 on a 32-bit cpu. -
@mmunz https://manytricks.com/museum says that all of our apps require at least 10.7 these days. Looks like I'm good to go for most projects. Yay! -
@mmunz (Two of them use 32-bit-only really old stuff, so those will have to remain unchanged for now.)

@petermaurer 10.7 and later require a Core 2 Duo or later. Put another way: if you are not supporting 10.6, you can drop 32-bit support. -

@petermaurer I find http://mactracker.ca/ useful for this. Smart Category, Processor Type Core Duo. Compare with https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202575 -
@petermaurer Short answer, all Macs that run 10.8 are 64-bit.
