Yes a very good start. Keeping children in school a top priority. We’re working with heads on a follow up meeting to process the learning from the day, we’ll also incorporate recommendations from youth violence panel and ‘s scrutiny work

Encouraging mood in the room from all parties, it’s time we start to figure out what we all need to do to achieve 100% inclusion across Southwark’s schools! Even zero exclusions isn’t enough if it hides similar things

Glad this is getting attention. I think all parties realise we need to do more - in difficult times - to stop exclusions happening

Affected by school exclusion? Please complete and spread the word! Hearing from excluded young people knocked me for six - it's not at all clear the system is working.

School exclusions are far too common and the consequences are often utterly devastating and long-term. Glad are looking at exclusions in depth. If you are a Southwark resident with direct experience please feed back >>

We are delighted to welcome Alan MacDonald, Head of the Youth Inspection Programme at , who calls for a system where young people don’t internalise a social identity of being an ‘offender’. Read more from our briefing on labelling here

Fixed term or permanent exclusions. We’re focusing on people with experience within last four years. We’ve already heard really powerful testimony from some young people (thanks ) and we’d love to hear from more, as well as parents and carers

Southwark is where I grew up and where I became a member of the Labour Party - I'm now proud to be standing as Labour’s candidate for the Lambeth & Southwark London Assembly elections 2020 - here’s why I’m standing and why Lambeth and Southwark need a strong voice
