The new show on is a fascinating, terrifying and ultra contemporary look at where we are as a culture today. I urge everyone to watch.

Rarely admitted in journalism these days: "The paywall is inherently in conflict with journalism’s primary goal: to educate and inform the public about important issues."

52 years ago today President Lyndon B. Johnson (reluctantly) signed the Freedom of Information Act into law, empowering the public with the right to access federal agency records as a way of keeping a check on government. Happy birthday ! ☀️

We're demanding that give the press access to its detention facility in McAllen Texas, so and others can report on government conduct there. Denial of access ignores the protections for newsgathering established in the First Amendment.

Grateful to and other news organizations covering this and bearing witness. Telling these stories is a step toward reversing this cruel, dehumanizing policy

These stories break my heart. My grandmother was a refugee who told me the story of being briefly separated from her parents as she fled and the sheer terror of wondering if she’d ever see them again. The experience was still traumatizing as she shared it 60 years later.

Something that has always stayed with me was in the documentary “The Bridge” about suicides off of the Golden Gate. The kid who survived said he regretted it the minute his feet left the bridge. We would have never known that if he died.

My husband once came up with this idea to order the cuisine type of a particular Bourdain episode and then watch it. So when you’re seeing and craving the food - you get to have it! Highly recommend this magical endeavor you will be missed ❤️
